Aloe vera contains healthful plant compounds. Aloe vera, as mentioned before it contains a tissue that stores water and makes the leaves thick. This water filled tissue is the gel that contains most of the beneficial bioactive compounds such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. 

Aloe vera also contains powerful antioxidants belonging to a large family of substances known as polyphenols. This polyphenols help inhibit the growth of certain bacteria that cause infections in animals and humans. 

Aloe is also known for its antibacterial, antiviral and antiseptic properties that may help healing wounds and skin problems in your loved animals. It also accelerates wound healing and it works ideal preventing redness, itching and infections.

There are still many horse owners who do not know the health benefits of feeding aloe gel. But Aloe Vera may also work as a great digestive support for horses since  its very high in digestible fibre.
